In order to write
(1)/(4) as a decimal, we need to find a fraction equivalent to
(1)/(4) with a 100 in the denominator. Notice that if we multiply the numerator and denominator of
(1)/(4) by 25, we get the equivalent fraction
(25)/(100) which we can now write as a decimal.

Remember that the hundredths place is two places to the right of the decimal point. Therefore, we can write
(25)/(100) as 0.25.
