f = p^t where f is the total people with the flu, p is the initial people and t is the days that pass

The formula for exponential functions is y = ab^x. If you are trying to solve it without a table, the formula would be y=c(1±r)^t, where y is the value trying to be solved, 1±r is the growth (or decay) rate, and t is the period of time. So your answer is exponential growth.
