Thomas Jefferson wanted a federal government with limited powers, he feared an aristocracy of corporations, he found the greatest strength of the constitution was liberty and power, if he had his way he would make political freedom, religious freedom and educational freedom more advanced, he would think that the government today needs to have more limits and that people should have more power.
