At the grocery store it says “salted butter” and “non salted butter”. Why would they have 2 different kinds?

Due to different ways of cooking you may want to used salted butter rather than unsalted also. When a recipe calls for unsalted butter, that means that the salt levels in the recipe account for no other salt source.

Salted butter also has a longer shelf life.
