400 - 15% =
340
15% of $400 is $60, so subtract $60 from $400.
Final answer: $340.0

The problem saying the digital camera is on sale for $400 and that is 15% off. Thats mean %400 dollar is equivalents to 85% of the original price. Lets say the 100% is equal to d so it would be like this :
%85. $400
——— = ———. -> we would do cross multiplication-> 400*100 = $40000/ %85 = 470.59
%100. d
Answer = The original price would be $470.59
