Can somebody help me to answer this....

The center-to-center distance between consecutive holes in a strip of metal is 1.17 inches. If there are 8 holes, what is the center-to-center distance, in inches, from the first to the last hole?

1.17 multiplied by 7 = 8.19 inches.

You only multiply by 7 because that is how many spaces there are between the holes.
