5 to the 3rd is 5x5x5, and 5x5 is 25, which multiplied by 5 is 125. 5 to the 6th power is 5x5x5x5x5x5, and we know 5x5x5 is 125, so we can say 125x125, which is 15625. Then, multiply these two and we get 1953125.

5^3 x 5^6

Note that when multiplying numbers with powers, as long as there is the same base (as in this case, 5), you may add the power signs.

5^3 x 5^6 = 5^(3 + 6) = 5^9

5^9, or 1,953,125 is your answer

hope this helps
