Hi,

You can write your problem as an equation.

x - 2 + x - 1 + x = 5x - 41 ,

x being the largest number.
So,

3x - 3 = 5x - 41
3x - 5x = -41 +3
-2x = -38
2x = 38
x = 38/2 = 19

The largest number is 19.
