The allies were more concerned with punishment and restitution than with peace.

President Wilson's Fourteen Points were intended to prevent the international tension which was there among the nations which would lead to war. The fourteen points were later taken as the foundation for the peace negotiations These points were somehow successful at the ending the world war I but they didn't succeed in the prevention of the world war II. This was because the allies were more concerned with punishment and restitution than with peace
