On June 3, 2006, Montenegro was part of Serbia and Montenegro (also known as Yugoslavia) but gained independence after a vote. Two days later, Serbia and Montenegro split.

February 17, 2008: Kosovo unilaterally declared independence from Serbia.

South Sudan declared independence from Sudan on July 9, 2011. That is the earliest independence I can think of but you did not clarify what map... ^.^
