The Emirate of Cordoba was the emirate that created the berbers, (also known as the muslims in spain). This Emirate was part of the Umayyad Caliphate. The emirate of Cordoba was established in 718 at the end of the Umayyad conquest of Hispania, and existed until 929, when it started to falter, and all muslims were expelled in 1492.
