Reproduction is a fundamental feature of all known life, each individual organism exists as the result of reproduction. There are 2 forms of reproduction asexual and sexual. In asexual reproduction, an organism can reproduce without the involvement of another organism. (sorry if that was to much)

The overall purpose of reproduction is to maintain the population of a species so it doesn't go extinct.

Hope this helps!!
