Solution:

we are given wit a table showing job types and the corresponding wages.

we have been asked to write

For each job an inequality that represents the number of hours Alex could work before the trip.

For the Part-time Job:

The required inequality is

2200\leq 11.5** x * y

x\leq20,y \leq 8

where x=number of Hours each week, y= number of weeks.

If Alex work each week for 8 weeks(20 Hrs/week) then total amount earned will be:

Amount=11.5*20*8=1840 $

Hence this options is not going to give the sufficient amount.

Full-Time Job:

The required inequality is

2200\leq 9 * x * y+100y

x\leq40,y \leq 8

where x=number of Hours each week, y= number of weeks.

If Alex work each week for 8 weeks(40 Hrs/week) then total amount earned will be:

Amount=9*40*8+100*8=2880+800=3680 $

Hence this full-time job option is suitable for Alex and will full fill the requirement.
