Gilbert Tennent was a pietistic Protestant evangelist in colonial America. He was born in County Armagh, Ireland, but he moved to America when he was a teenager. e was trained for pastoral ministry. There, he turned into one of the leaders of the Great Awakening of religious feeling in Colonial America, together with George Whitefield and Jonathan Edwards.
