Transverse
A slice through the small intestine which shows the hollow tubular nature of this organ is called transverse.
Transverse is the cross-section formed when slicing through an object or any part of the body structure in a horizontal plane. Transverse is usually made at right angles to the long axis of the body or object. Transverse section displays three equal sections or planes and three axes.
