Motor cortex

Otfrid foerster and wilder penfield were able to map the motor cortex in humans by stimulating different parts of the cortex and observing the physical responses.

Motor cortex is the region of the frontal lobe situated behind the precentral gyrus directly before the central sulcus. The motor cortex is associated with the control, planning and execution of voluntary movements. The motor cortex is divided into three sections; the primary motor cortex, the premotor cortex, and the supplementary motor area.
