The difference between forensic science and criminalistic is that, in criminalistic it is a subject of forensic science while forensic science encompasses different fields.

Forensic science serves as the law by analyzing the evidence.

Another name for criminalistics is forensic science whereby it is the application of principles which are scientific and in a criminal case they do provide good evidence.

Depending on a person experience and education there are better options for jobs in forensic science.
