Why does the prison doctor endeavor not to know the crimes his patients have committed? Do you think this is wise? Why or why not?

Doctors who work in prisons are required to treat all inmates with the same care and respect, regardless of the crime. It is a wise choice to not know the crimes, as knowing them could lead to bias and distract the doctor from his job.
