Aeschylus's trilogy, The Oresteia, is a painful declaration that tortuously depicts a bloody chain of destruction and malice within the imperial family of Argos. In the beginning, the play of the trilogy, "Agamemnon," the persona of Cassandra performs an essential role in the play and the trilogy as a whole, in various distinct ways. It is worth studying the Oresteia because Cassandra, acts like sage and prophet, correlates the present with the past, and more importantly, draws a foreshadowing darkness of condemnation for the future.
