After experiencing religious intolerance themselves in england, why do you think the puritans practiced similar intolerance against dissenters like roger williams and anne hutchinson?

I believe that the Puritans were intolerant despite having got away from England for the same intolerance because they had been socialized to be unperceptive to new ideas. Therefore, intolerance was still ingrained in their minds and were intolerant to anyone who challenged their way of life.
