Vector a has a magnitude of 3 and a direction of 20° nw. vector b has a magnitude of 5 and a direction of 30° ne. what is the magnitude of the sum of these two vectors?

First draw the vectors a and b according to the question.

It is clear from the diagram that vector a and b are making an angle of 50.

Now, put the value of a,b and theta in the formula of magnitude of sum of two vectors to get the result.

Thus, we get the magnitude of resultant vector.

R=7.3 approx
