It is important to remember that DRI recommended intakes are based on the latest accessible scientific research.

The DRI (Dietary Reference Intake) refers to a system of nutrition recommendations from the IOM (Institute of Medicine) of the National Academics, United States. It was presented in 1997 in order to widen the prevailing guidelines called as Recommended Dietary Allowances.

The values of DRI vary from those used in nutrition labeling on dietary and food supplement products in the Canada and United States that uses RDI and daily values that were based on out-of-date RDA from 1968 but were rationalized as of 2016.

Answer;

They are based on the latest available scientific research

Step-by-step explanation;

-DRI is the general term for a set of reference values used to plan and assess nutrient intakes of healthy people.

-They are a set of at least four nutrient-based reference values that can be used for planning and assessing diets and for many other purposes. They are meant to replace the former Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDAs) in the United States and Recommended Nutrient Intakes (RNIs) in Canada.
