Well, a parabola 'opens' left, right, up, or down, but it doesn't 'face. I'm going to assume that this parabola OPENS down ... it couldn't hold water.

If this is correct, then ...

-- The function is increasing wherever 'x' is negative.

-- The function is decreasing wherever 'x' is positive.

-- The function is not constant anywhere.
