I believe the answer is: perceive the injuries of victims of violence as less severe
The behaviour that being displayed in tv shows and movies often time are really illogical and do not represent the actual situation.
For example, you often see characters in movies able to move around and fight even after getting shot, while normal human being most likely would not be able to do that. When children are watching this narrative, the perception that they have regarding injuries would also be influenced.
