Let t = travel time of the second car

then, (t+1) = travel time of the first car (since the first car starts start 1 hr before the second car)

When the second car catches the first car, they will have traveled the same distance

Write a distance equation: dist = speed * time

135*t = 110*(t+1)

135t = 110t + 110

25t = 110

t =110/25

t = 22/5 hours or 4.4 hours

Since 0.4 hours corresponds to 0.4*60 = 24 minutes, the total time is 4 hours and 24 minutes

So, the second car will catch the first car in 4 hours and 24 minutes
