Heather conducted a poll of 45 people in the mall concerning their cookie preferences. She found that 36 people favored chocolate chip and the rest prefered sugar cookies. Based on these results about how many people out of 1000 can be expected to prefer sugar cookies?

The ratio is 36:9, or 4:1

1000/5 = 200

4(200):1(200)

800:200

800 prefer chocolate chip and 200 preferred sugar cookies
