How did french imperialism in africa differ from british imperialism?

British believed in Divide and Conquer. They preferred chaos would allow them to take the benefits, since the locals would fight against each other. France believed in integration, they wanted locals to act and become French. From teaching them how to speak and dress French to designing the major cities like France.
