Why do plant cells need a cell wall?

Please help me this was due a while ago

Answer:

Plant cell needs cell wall because the plants need rigid structure so that they can grow up and out. The cell wall surrounds the plasma membrane of plant cells and provides tensile strength and protection against mechanical and osmotic stress.
