If two heterozygous plants are mated, then 2 out of 4 progeny will have round seeds that are genotypically heterozygous. This can be tested by working out a Punnett Square for the dominant round trait and the recessive wrinkled trait. Let 'R' denote the dominant trait and 'r' denote the recessive trait. The image shows the Punnett square with the resulting genotypes. The progeny has 2 homozygous and 2 heterozygous genotypes. Both the heterozygous genotypes will have round seeds.
