My math homework says "estimate the unit rate if 12 pairs of socks sell for $5.79 "

and i need help please anybody

Ok, you want to figure out the cost of one sock, since a unit rate is a rate of 1. To find the unit rate, you would do: 12/5.79, which gets you the answer of about $2.07 per one sock

The unit rate in this situation would be the price of each pair of socks.

Since they want us to just estimate, we can round up the price for the socks to $6

Now, let’s divide 6 and 12

6 ÷ 12 = 0.50

Therefore, each pair is about $0.50
