Why were the federalist paper and anti federalist papers written

The federalist were written to promote the ratification (basically agree ) of the U.S constitution.
It was written by Hamilton, Madison and Jay. It was about 80 pages long I think.

The anti federalist papers were written by the founding fathers that were against the constitution (or concerned) they were no where near as influencing as the Federalist papers were but are still important at shaping the modern American politics.
