a rational number is any number that can be expressed as a fraction, such as 2, -3, 2/3, etc.

So, basically, any non-repeating number between 31.5 and 31.6 should work.

Examples: 31.51, 31.52, 31.568, 31.599

I recommend 31.55 because it is simple and I have a fraction for it here: 361/20

Answer:

the rational number between 31.5 and 31.6 is 31.55

Explanation:

Now, we know that, average of the given numbers will lie in between the given numbers.

And, as we are finding average, which means sum divided by 2, it can be written in
(p)/(q)form.

So, it will be an rational number between given numbers.

Then, average of 31.5 and 31.6 =
((31.5 + 31.6 ))/(2)

Average =
(63.1)/(2)

Average = 31.55
