The population of the United States was about 280 million in 2000 and about 310 million in 2010. What was the annual rate of change in population from 2000 to 2010

To find the annual rate of chnge, we have to use the following formula


(P(2010)-P(2000))/(2010-2000)

P(2010) represents the population in the year 2010 and P(2000) represents the population in the year 2000 .

Substituting the values, we will get


(310-280)/(2010-2000) = (30)/(10) = 3 \ million \ per \ year
