X=1 because u divide the 10 that is next to the x

People take for granted that the answer is 1. Actually showing that is not easy. You could do it on a calculator.

The answer is 1

10x = 10 Divide by 10

10x/10 = 10/10

x = 1


Rule: Anything divided by itself always equals 1.

0/0 is the lone exception. For that you have to read your notes to see what you've been told.
