How do determine the specific gravity of substance given its density and the go wearer

The specific gravity is a unitless number that compares the density of a substance to the density of some standard substance (usually, but not always water). So to calculate the density of an object, you just multiply its specific gravity by the density of water or the density of whatever the standard is.
