One of the most tragic themes in night is eliezer's discovery of the way that atrocities and cruel treatment can make decent people into brutes. argue whether or not this happens to elie himself. does he remain a good person, or do his experiences corrupt him?

i believe he remained a good person

In the face of hunger, his comrades started to became violent and attacked one another when facing desperate situation (not having enough food to eat). Despite this situation, Ellie choose to be starved rather than attacking his comrades and become a savage.
