Let the age of Jay be x years, so age of Jay's father is 2x years .

After 20 years,

Jay's age will be
(x+20)years

And Jay's father age will be
(2x+20) years

But at that time, jay's age will be

(2)/(3) (2x+20) years

So we have

x+20 = (2)/(3) (2x+20)

Cross multiplication

3(x+20) = 2(2x+20) \\ 3x+60 = 4x + 40 \\ 60-40 = 4x-3x \\ x=20 years

Therefore Jay's age is 20 years and Jay's Father's age is 40 years .
