D, glycolysis.

Glycolysis is a process in metabolism that transforms glucose in to pyruvate* also transforming the excess energy into ATP and NADH.

* Pyruvate is a alpha-keto acid. During glycolysis one glucose molecule forms two pyruvate molecules.
