Area of trapezoid = 1/2(b1 + b2)(h)

Where b1 = 5m, b2 = 6m + 1m = 7m, and h = 3m

Plug in

A = 1/2(b1 + b2)(h)

A = 1/2(5 + 7)(3)

A = 18 m^2

Answer

18 m^2

Area of a trapezoid: 1/2(a + b) * h

where a and b are the bases of the trapezoid; h is the height.

In this particular trapezoid, a and b are 6 m + 1 m and 5 m, and h is 3 m.

a = 6+1 = 7 m

b = 5 m

h = 3 m

---

Plug a, b, and h into the formula for area of a trapezoid.

1/2(7 + 5) * 3 ⇒ 1/2(12) * 3

1/2(36) = 18

The area of the trapezoid is 18 m².
