I'm assuming you are referring to the "I have a Dream" speech. This speech required the most bravery one could have because of how draining this would be. Black people were not only silenced in this time but ignored and by making himself this big public figure, he made himself a target of hate and crime because the people who disagree with him had the capacity to be extremely violent.
