If the farmer's plot of land is 6 by 18, he has
6 \cdot 18 = 108 square meters of land. Each square meters yields 2kg of corn, so 108 square meters yield
108\cdot 2 = 216 kg of corn. So, the farmer's plot is not enough.

Since every square meter yields 2kg of corn,
m square meters yield
2m kg of corn. So, in order to yield 600 kg, you need

2m = 600 \implies m = 300 square meters of plot.
