Probably the two most important contributions animals made to farmers was as food and transportation. Farmers raised cattle, hogs, chicken, goats, etc. for meat, milk, eggs, etc. Before cars horses and horse drawn carriages provided the only transportation. Before farm equipment plows were pulled by oxen.
