3x - 6 / x-2 simplify the rational expression

So we have the equation:


(3x-6)/(x-2)

Then we can talk out a common factor of 3 in the numerator:


(3(x-2))/(x-2)

Since we have the term (x - 2) in both the numerator and the denominator (and in the numerator this term is being multiplied), we are able to cancel out these terms.

Therefore, the final answer is 3.
