We know inverse variation function is y =
(k)/(x)

Here x is the input and y is the output.

when the function's input value is divided in half

x is divided in half so x becomes
(x)/(2)

Now replace x with
(x)/(2)

y =
(k)/(x)

y =
(k)/((x)/(2))

y =
k * (2)/(x)

y=
(k)/(x) * 2

From this we can see that output y is doubled

when the function's input value is divided in half, then the output is doubled.
