3(n-6)+4n

Separate it into phrases

“Three times” of what? Of “the difference of the number and six”. So that’s (n-6) times 3, but place it in the correct order which is 3(n-6). Then the last phrase “increased by” means add, “four times the number”, which is 4n.

Four times the number = 4n

Six increased by four times the number = 6 + 4n

The difference of the number and six increased by four times the number = n - 6 + 4n

Three times the difference of the number and six increased by four times the number = 3(n - 6 + 4n).

Hope that helps :)
