The objective is to isolate m. To get rid of the fraction on the left side, multiply but its reciprocal (6). Do this to both sides so the equation remains true.

1/6m = 5/8

1/6m * 6 = 5/8 * 6

m = 5 * 6 / 8

m = 30 / 8

m = 15 / 4

Answer:

m =
(15)/(4)

we are given

(1)/(6) m=(5)/(8)

Since, we have to solve for m

so, we will try to isolate m on anyone side

so, firstly , we will get rid of 1/6

so, we can multiply both sides by 6

6*(1)/(6) m=6*(5)/(8)

m=6*(5)/(8)

now, we can simplify right side

m=3*(5)/(4)

now, we can multiply them

and we get

m=(15)/(4)...........Answer
