we need to find the vertices of given diagram using graph

we know that diagram looks in the from of ellipse

we know that ellipse is horizontal major axis ellipse which means major axis lies in x axis . we know that ellipse will have two vertices

we know that length of major axis =20 units from graph as we stretch from left to right corner .we need to divide to get semi major length so semi major length is 10 and -10

so one vertices (0,10) and other one is (0,-10) .

The graph represent a horizontal ellipse with center ,(h,k)=(-1,3)

Length of major axis, 2a =8-(-10) = 18

Therefore, a = 9

And length of minor axis, 2b =5-1 =4

Therefore b=2

The formula that we have to use to find the vertices

(h+-a,k)

(-1+-9,3) = (-1-9,3),(-1+9,3) = (-10,3),(8,3)
