How did Arabs dominate the coffee industry?

The Arabs were the only known supplier of coffee. The beans that were used to create coffee were harvested from the neighborhood of Mecca which were shipped to Suez. To secure their monopoly, the Arabs only shipped sterile coffee beans so the importers cannot grow their own farms
