What are the buildings blocks of protein, carbohydrates, and fats?

A building block of a substance is what the substance is mainly made of and also to what it transforms when it's metabolised (digested).

Proteins - Amino acids

Carbohydrates - Sugars

Fats - Either fatty acids or glycerol
