The area formula for a parallelogram is the exact same as a rectangle because a parallelogram is just a messed up rectangle. Instead of using length and width, you use base and altitude. I know, why even bother? Ask the old Greek dudes why they had to do it.

Since the answers are all in ft, we have to convert our altitude appropriately. There are 12 inches in a foot, so 6 inches would be 1/2 a foot.

1*1/2 = 0.5

The parallelogram is 0.5 sq. ft.
